Don't Bite The Dust

Had PML-N not chosen the rejection of Presidential notification of elevation of Lahore High Court Chief Justice, Khawaja Sharif to the Supreme Court and appointment of the next senior judge of the Lahore High Court, Justice Saqib Nisar as the acting Chief Justice of the Lahore high court as a platform to voice its frustration with the government over a host of issues including the NRO and implementation of Charter of Democracy, everyone would be spared of whif of political instibility.

What has happened is, that because of major political figures chosing to speak their minds about each other , calling for strikes, black coats having taken the roads in protest has charged the atmosphere to such an extent that whatever happens in court on February 18 over the issue is going to make the atmosphere in the country very very combustible.

Media is being accused again of having a field day over the issue and creating an unnecessary sensation.

How to behave?

Here are some recommendations:

The Government
It should accept whole heartedly whatever the Supreme Court decides in the matter and implement it fully. This will be a real favour to democracy and that is what the Government claims that it plans to do.

The Opposition
Avoid polticising a legal issue. Wait till February 18 when the matter is going to be taken up in court.

The Supreme Court
It should clarify the procedure for the appointment of judges. Clarify the controversy brewing around Al Jihad verdict.

So, every one wait, watch and learn.
